What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device — computer, tablet, or phone — when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit, like whether you’re logged in or which language you prefer.
Cookies are not programs. They cannot run code, carry viruses, or access other files on your device.
Session cookies are temporary. They are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period of time, or until you delete them manually.
Some cookies are set directly by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services we use to run the platform, such as security and authentication providers. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Cookies We Use
We use four categories of cookies, described below. For each category, we note the purpose, examples of specific cookies, how long they last, whether they are required, and the legal basis under which we use them.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Aventide platform to function. They manage your login session, protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and enable security checks. Without these cookies, core features — including signing in and using the platform — would not work.
Can you opt out? No. Because these cookies are required for the service to operate, they are active at all times. Under GDPR, they are used on the basis of contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in securing the platform.
outseta_auth (or equivalent session token) — Set by Outseta. Authenticates your logged-in session. Duration: session, or up to 30 days if “Remember me” is selected.
CSRF token — Set by Aventide / Outseta. Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Duration: session.
Cloudflare Turnstile cookie — Set by Cloudflare. Confirms you’re human during sign-in. Duration: session.
Cloudflare help-desk session cookie — Set by Cloudflare. Protects the in-app support ticket form from abuse. Duration: session.
Functional Cookies
These cookies remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience. For example, they may remember your UI preferences or interface state so you don’t have to reconfigure things each visit.
Can you opt out? Yes. These cookies are optional. If you decline them, the platform will still work, but some preferences may not be saved between sessions. Legal basis (GDPR): Consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
UI preference cookie — Set by Aventide. Stores display or interface preferences (e.g., sidebar state, theme). Duration: up to 12 months.
Language / locale setting — Set by Aventide. Remembers your preferred language or regional settings. Duration: up to 12 months.
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how the platform is used in aggregate — for example, which pages are visited most often or which features are used frequently. This helps us improve Aventide over time.
Analytics cookies on Aventide collect anonymized data only. We do not use analytics cookies to identify individual users, and no personally identifiable information is collected through them. IP addresses are either not logged or are anonymized before storage.
Can you opt out? Yes. These cookies are optional and will only be set if you consent — no analytics cookies are set until you click Accept All in the cookie banner. Legal basis (GDPR): Consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
_ga, _ga_* — Set by Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes visitors and tracks aggregate page views and feature usage; no personal data collected. Duration: up to 2 years.
Advertising and Tracking Cookies
Aventide does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any form of cross-site tracking. No third-party advertising networks have access to your data through the Aventide platform.
Cloudflare on Sign-In and Support
Cloudflare is not used as a general proxy for aventide.ai or the Aventide app — both are served directly, with their own security certificates. Cloudflare is only involved in two specific places:
Signing In
The sign-in page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative that verifies you’re human without a visual puzzle and without using your data for advertising. This runs only when you sign in — it does not run elsewhere on the site or in the app.
Submitting a Support Ticket
The help-desk ticket form — opened from a modal inside the app, not a separate page — is also protected by Cloudflare to prevent spam and abuse. This only activates when you open that modal.
What Cloudflare Processes
In these two moments, Cloudflare may process:
Your IP address
Browser type, version, and user agent string
Device and network signals used to distinguish human visitors from bots
Legal Basis
This processing is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in protecting the platform and its users from bots and abuse.

How to Manage Cookies
Using Our Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit aventide.ai, a cookie consent banner will appear. You can use it to accept or decline non-essential cookies (Functional and Analytics categories). You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site, which will re-trigger the banner.
Using Your Browser Settings
You can also control or delete cookies directly through your browser. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Aventide platform.
